About the Planning Commission
The City of Leesburg Planning Commission is the board of local citizens appointed
for the purpose of reviewing and making recommendations on zoning related cases.
These cases include rezoning, comp plan amendments, zoning ordinance revisions
conditional use permits, variances and plats.
The Planning Commission provides citizen review and oversight of planning and
zoning activities on behalf of the citizens of Leesburg. Meetings of the Commission
are held twice each month, and are open to the public. At each meeting the public
has an opportunity to speak on cases being heard before the Commission.

Message from the Chairman
Thank you for your interest in the City of Leesburg. The mission of the Planning and
Zoning Commission is to act as the citizen oversight committee with jurisdiction
over planning and zoning related activities occurring in the City of Leesburg.
Historically a sleepy town, in recent years Leesburg has undergone numerous and
rapid changes in it's development as a community. A resurgent downtown, new
retirement communities, additional annexations, single-family subdivisions and
apartments all contribute to the growth and economic viability of our City. Twice
each month, the Planning and Zoning Commission meets to review and make
recommendations on development proposals such as these throughout the City.
James Argento, Chairman
