Job Description:
Perform troubleshooting and installation of software and hardware on computer system. Perform a variety of complicated tasks while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Primary responsibility will be to support the City of Leesburg Departments by providing the following services: Identify software and hardware problems. Coordinate communications with departments for integration of solutions for the best possible use of City computer resources. Answer on-call questions for software and hardware solutions and provide support for software and hardware problems. Perform specialized technical work in providing technical support and consultation. Work involves installing and customizing operating systems, administering cellular data and radio modem network, correcting problems with software and hardware, and assisting other City personnel with problem determination.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Electronics, or related field with 4 years of experience, preferably in a governmental setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures are essential. In depth knowledge of Windows 95/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 and MS Office applications is required. Experience working with Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 Server is essential. Experience with DNS, Active Directory and Group Policy is essential. Knowledge and experience with other operating systems, HTML, ASP, VBScript, and Java is required. In depth understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet standards, fiber optics, routers, hubs, switches, cellular data, wireless, Internet firewalls, viruses, backup and restore procedures is essential. Knowledge of databases, client/server systems, email systems and Web Development is also a plus. Knowledge of AS400 environments is desirable. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license.
