Job Description:
The purpose of this class is to provide emergency services and treat injured persons. This class is responsible for responding to fires or other emergency situations, rescuing and providing emergency medical service, performing salvage operations, and related follow-up. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general Fire Department supervision.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED, Florida State Certificate of Firefighter Compliance, ACLS, CPR, and Paramedic certifications. VFIS Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC 16 - hour) required prior to hire. Must have and maintain a current/valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Criminal background and driving record check required prior to employment. Physical Requirements: Applicants must pass a physical ability test and a post offer physical examination prior to hire.
Qualification Procedures: Applicants will be required to submit to the following: drug screening, physical ability test, and
background investigation. Applicant will be required to take and pass a General Knowledge Test. Applicant selected for
employment will be required to sign a conditional offer pending successful completion of pre employment screening.
