This is budget and management analysis work of moderate complexity in the compilation, development and monitoring of the City's operating and capital budgets by department and appropriation. Work includes the analysis and evaluation of budget estimates and justification statements submitted by City departments for their adherence to established budgetary policies and procedures; and developing new or improved methods and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the overall budgetary process. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Budget Manager within established guidelines; however, an employee in this class usually exercises considerable independence in day to day operations, requiring the application of sound judgment and initiative. The position would also support any additional analysis and evaluations prescribed by the Finance Director or the City Manager. This position will be responsible for performing a full range of professional accounting activities by providing technical accounting support to the Budget Manager, in compliance to internal control policies, standard operating procedures of the agency, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Florida Statutes.
Requires a bachelor’s degree, or education and training equivalent to four years of college, in accounting, budgeting or closely related field with at least 3 years of related work experience, preferably in a governmental setting. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
