The Florida Energy and Aerospace Technology Park represents the next generation of high-tech and skilled manufacturing job creation in Central Florida. Much of this planned 640-acre facility located in Central Florida's technology business corridor is dedicated to research and development of environmentally conscious alternative power sources. Bio-energy is emerging as a viable domestic solution to the soaring cost of oil.
The City of Leesburg will incorporate that available technology to help meet regional energy demands and to reduce power costs as part of $20 million worth of Smart Grid upgrades to its 24,000-customer electric utility. Another facet is to create alternative energy resources that will complement the technology park's aerospace and aviation efforts. Economic development and tax incentives are available for companies that create high-paying jobs in this area. Energy related workforce education is available through local public schools in coordination with Leesburg Electric. Leesburg also provides critical infrastructure and government services to meet the needs of your growing business.
