Subject: Resolution appointing two regular members to
the Planning Commission

Staff Recommendation:
Staff requests the City Commission
appoint two regular members to the Planning Commission
Analysis:
The
City’s Planning Commission consists of seven
regular members plus one alternate, all of which must be appointed by
the City Commission for varied terms so that only two positions can expire in
the same year.
The
Planning Commission currently has two vacant regular member positions as a
result of term expirations and Roland Stults and Jo Ann Heim not seeking
reappointment. Two applicants request appointment to these positions. The two
applications are Frazier J. Marshall (currently an alternate) and Ted Bowersox
whose applications are attached for your review. These appointments will leave an
alternate position vacancy on the Planning Commission.
The
two regular member positions expire September 30, 2015 (See chart below).

Options:
1. Appoint
two applicants as regular members to the Planning Commission, with terms to

Fiscal Impact:
The
City of Leesburg 2011-12 budget provides funding to reimburse the Planning
Commissioners for serving of $25 per meeting.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, appointing TWO REGULAR memberS to the PLANNING
COMMISSION WITH said termS to expire September 30, 2015; and providing an effective date.
BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE
THAT the City Commission of the City of
Leesburg, Florida finds that there are two regular member positions vacant with
term expiration dates of September 30, 2015 on the Planning Commission.
THAT the City Commission hereby appoints

said terms expiring September 30, 2015 to the City of Leesburg Planning
Commission;
THIS
RESOLUTION shall become
