authorizing a first amendment to an existing agreement with Annan Landscaping
Company for Highway 441 Landscape Maintenance services
Staff Recommendation:
Staff
recommends approval of the second amendment with Annan Landscaping Company
(Annan) to extend the existing contract thru September 30, 2013. The annual budgeted expense for the contract
is $62,880.00.
Analysis:
The
City originally contracted with Annan in March 2008 for a three (3)-year base
period. Annan provides Highway 441
Landscape Maintenance from CR 473 to College Drive. The original agreement provides for the City
to renew in writing for additional one (1) year periods at the City’s
option. This option was first
implemented to extend the agreement period until September 30, 2012. The City wishes to exercise the option
provision with this second amendment to extend the agreement period until
September 30, 2013.
Extension
of this contract will allow for uninterrupted Highway 441 Landscape Maintenance
services. Retaining the existing company
will minimize confusion and cost by transferring to a new company. The City has received excellent service and
dependability from Annan and would like to continue its relationship with this
vendor.
Options:
1. Authorize execution of the first amendment
with Annan Landscaping Company; or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may
deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
Funds
for Highway 441 Landscape Maintenance services are budgeted for $62,880.00 in
the 2013 fiscal year. This will be an
ongoing annual maintenance expense. The
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will reimburse the City
approximately $10,000 per year for maintaining the non-landscaped Bahia grass
areas.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A SECOND
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH ANNAN LANDSCAPING COMPANY FOR HIGHWAY 441
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES FROM CR 473 TO COLLEGE DRIVE FOR $62,880.00; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute a second amendment to an existing agreement with ANNAN
LANDSCAPING COMPANY whose address is 991
Explorer Cove, Suite 133, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL 32701 for Landscape
Maintenance Services.
THAT
this resolution shall become effective immediately.
