Subject:                      Resolution authorizing execution of a LAP Supplemental Agreement with FDOT for the Leesburg-Wildwood Trail

 

 


Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of the resolution authorizing execution of the LAP Supplemental Agreement for the Leesburg-Wildwood Trail reducing the funding amount for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services to $148,645.00.

 

Analysis:

This LAP Supplemental Agreement is a housekeeping issue required by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reducing the funding amount for CEI services from the original estimated project amount of $208,395.00 to $148,645.00, a reduction of $59,750.00.

 

All original project funding amounts were based on estimated costs at the time the grant was approved.  Actual construction and CEI costs were lower than the approved grant funding.  FDOT requires all grant funding to be adjusted to the actual contracted costs.  This supplemental agreement is to reduce the CEI costs based on the final negotiated contract amount of $148,645.00.

 

Options:

1.  Approve the resolution authorizing execution of the LAP Supplemental Agreement.

 

Fiscal Impact: 

There is no fiscal impact to the City related to this Supplemental Agreement.  The Leesburg-Wildwood Trail project is 100% funded by FDOT.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A SUPPLEMENT TO AN EXISTING LOCAL AGENCY PARTICIPATION (LAP) AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE LEESBURG-WILDWOOD MULTI-USE RECREATIONAL TRAIL; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

 

            WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Leesburg, Florida desire to facilitate the Leesburg Wildwood Trail and,

 

            WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transportation has requested the City of Leesburg, Florida to execute and deliver to the State of Florida Department of Transportation the Supplemental Local Agency Program Agreement for the aforementioned project, FPN 424444-1-58-01.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to make, execute, and deliver to the State of Florida Department of Transportation the Supplemental Local Agency Program Agreement for the aforementioned project, FPN 424444-1-58-01.

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the __14th_ day of __January___ 2013.
