Street Maintenance

The Streets Maintenance Division is responsible for the management and administration of the continuing service contracts for City road and sidewalk maintenance, installation, and repair within the constraints of the annual budget. This division monitors the safety and condition of roads and sidewalks, and orders repairs as required, as well as ensures the public's health and safety by prioritizing repair on a work-case criterion. Technicians perform pothole repairs, minor crack sealing to City streets, repair work to damaged sidewalk sections, and conversion of sidewalk corners to be more accessible for our disabled citizens.

The Streets and Signs Maintenance Division has a staff of five (5). The Streets Maintenance Division is staffed by one (1) Street Supervisor and three (3) technicians and is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all regulatory signs within the City of Leesburg public right-of-way. These include street signs, warning signs, traffic regulation signs, and information signs. This division designs and manufactures custom signs for the City's departments, waterways, and programs as approved by the City Commission. They maintain the marking, painting, and striping for all City streets, curbs, and crosswalks for public safety purposes.

In Mid-2006 the Streets Maintenance Division added three (3) technicians to begin performing minor maintenance and repair to the City's streets and sidewalks. Through the expansion of this division is our goal to be more responsive to our citizens and their concerns for roadway and pedestrian safety.
