Canoe/Kayak Specialist
Requirement: Experience in canoeing or kayaking and excellent swimming skills.
Description: Leads or assists staff with canoe tours, classes, etc.
Duties include: Instructs visitors on proper canoe handling and safety, answers questions, and assists in care of canoes and equipment.
Hours: Days and evenings, weekends and weekdays.
Frequency: As scheduled.
Location: Venetian Cove Marina

Gymnasium Monitor
Description: Open and monitor the gymnasium evenings and weekends. Assist in keeping the gymnasium clean.
Hours: Weekends and after school hours (varies according to availability).
Frequency: Monday through Sunday
Location: Leesburg Recreational Complex.

Junior Lifeguard
Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 13-15 years old with excellent swimming skills.
Description: This is skilled water safety work involved in the operation of a public aquatic facility and swimming area.
Duties include: Assisting lifeguards in various tasks to insure patron safety, rule enforcement, cleanliness and appearance of the aquatic facility. Work does not include the actual rescue/first aid of persons.
Hours: Days.
Frequency: Regular basis during the summer.
Location: Venetian Gardens Pool, H.O. Dabney Pool

Park Ranger
Description: Assist parks staff with general maintenance duties.
Duties include: Working on your own or assisting with general maintenance duties that may include trash removal, cleanups, weeding, planting, painting and other activities.
Hours: Vary.
Frequency: Usually once a month on Saturdays except during the summer.
Location: All city park facilities throughout Leesburg.

Museum Specialist
Description: Assist in gathering and distributing general information to the public.
Duties include: Gather information, general clerical tasks, answering the phone and responding to inquiries about the facility and its amenities.
Hours: Vary.
Frequency: Varies according to availability.
Location: Leesburg Historical Museum.

Mote-Morris House Historian/Tour Guide Assistant
Description: Conduct tours of this historic house on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Duties include: Conduct tours and answer questions from the public. Heritage Society members preferred but not required.
Hours: Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Frequency: Varies according to availability.
Location: Mote-Morris House.

Special Event Assistant
Description: Assist with implementation and production of special events.
Duties include: Parking, crowd control, event preparation and other duties related to special events.
Hours: Vary according to the length of the event, however, usually on the weekends, during the day.
Frequency: Varies according to the length of the event and availability.
Location: City facilities throughout Leesburg.

Marina Assistant
Description: Assist staff with duties at the Venetian Cove Marina.
Duties include: Helping customers on dock, gas boats, charge batteries and perform other general maintenance duties. Knowledge of boating is a plus.
Hours: Between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends
Frequency: As scheduled.
Location: Venetian Cove Marina

Volunteer Coach/Coaching Assistant
Description: Assist with organization and sports training for Youth Sports Development Program.
Duties include: Organize and assist with training youth in the following sports: football, basketball and baseball. Background in these sports is helpful, however, training is available.
Hours: Evenings, Monday through Friday and Saturday.
Frequency: Sessions usually are held two or three times per week.
Location: Sleepy Hollow, Susan Street, Pat Thomas Stadium and Leesburg Recreational Complex.

Scorekeeper/Site Attendant Specialist
Description: Position will keep score for seasonal team sports; to include basketball, baseball, softball, soccer and football; (Background in these sports is helpful, however, training is available).
Duties include: Scorekeeping for various sports which may include recording fouls, points and penalties, operating an electric scoreboard and timer and keeping parents/participants informed of score. Assist staff with supervision of program, setting up for practices and games, and ensuring proper care of program/facility. Assist in closing down the activity area and collecting equipment at the conclusion of the activities. Possess good written and oral communication skills.
Hours: Evenings Monday through Saturday.
Frequency: Seasonal. Sessions are usually held two or three times per week.
Location: Leesburg, Sleepy Hollow and Susan Street recreation complexes and Pat Thomas Stadium.

Lightning Assistant
Description: Assist Leesburg Lightning staff with game-day preparation and operations
Hours: Generally between 4 and 10 pm.
Frequency: Three to four times a week depending on availability
Location: Pat Thomas Stadium

Office Assistant
Description: Assist staff with general office work.
Duties include: Opening and sorting incoming mail, making copies, sorting and matching documents, data entry and filing.
Hours: Between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., 2 - 4 hours minimum, one day a week.
Frequency: Monday through Friday
Location: Leesburg Recreational Complex.
